Big Hotel Chains to add EV chargers on popular routes to drive travel demand

The availability of EV charging stations at hotels has made journeys from one destination to another more convenient for electric vehicle owners. IHCL, for example, installed 224 EV charging stations in 92 of its locations last year. Likewise, Marriott International collaborated with ChargeZone to add 100 charging stations across the country. Other hotel companies are strengthening their EV charging infrastructure as well. Due to the presence of electric vehicle (EV) charging stations at hotels, more and more people are taking trips outside their cities in an EV.

Royal Orchid Hotels Limited is also planning on rolling out EV charging facilities across all 82 of its properties in the next three months. In addition, WelcomHeritage has recently installed a charging station in Himachal Pradesh’s Solan.

As EVs become increasingly popular, customers seek out hotels with EV charging capabilities. Abinash Manghani, CEO of the hospitality company, stated that they intend to cover the driving holiday route through Himachal Pradesh from Chandigarh via Kasauli and Solan to Shimla. Hotels are attracting growing numbers of EV owners by installing EV charging stations on their properties, with many chains ramping up infrastructure to meet the demand.

With the increasing popularity of EVs, more customers are looking for hotels that offer EV charging facilities, and we’re happy to see that hotels are taking notes.
